Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Quality Analyst who will be responsible for detecting and fixing data quality issues in our system and developing insightful and actionable reports and dashboards using Amazon QuickSight. This role requires a strong understanding of data modeling and the ability to work with complex transactional datasets to design and define data requirements for our data warehouse. The ideal candidate will have experience in reporting tools, scripting languages, and ETL processes, with the analytical skills to turn raw data into meaningful business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Reconciliation & Quality Assurance:
- Perform automated and manual reconciliation across multiple data sources, including processor data, to ensure transaction accuracy and consistency.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between different data systems, ensuring financial data integrity.
- Implement and refine data validation processes to maintain high data quality standards.
- Work with engineering and product teams to ensure reporting reflects accurate real-time and historical data.
- Develop reconciliation reports and audits to help stakeholders monitor discrepancies and trends.
Data Quality Analysis & Data Modeling:
- Analyze transactional data from our payment systems to understand data flows and patterns.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data needs and help architect datasets in the Amazon Redshift data warehouse.
- Formulate and implement data strategies to ensure accurate, timely, and relevant reporting.
ETL & Data Integration:
- Work closely with data engineering teams to design and develop ETL processes that feed reporting systems.
- Utilize tools like AWS Glue, PySpark, Apache Airflow, Talend, or Informatica to process and transform data.
- Write scripts in Python, SQL, or other scripting languages to support data preparation and automation tasks.
Report & Dashboard Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports using Amazon QuickSight.
- Translate business requirements into insightful visualizations and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Optimize QuickSight datasets and visuals for performance and usability.
Collaboration & Quality Assurance:
- Partner with business teams to understand reporting needs and provide actionable insights.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of reports to guarantee accuracy and reliability.
Remote Work & Location Preferences:

- Preference will be given to candidates located in Scottsdale, AZ, as this allows for occasional in-person collaboration with our team.
- The candidate must be comfortable working with a distributed remote team across multiple time zones.

Required Qualifications:
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-growing company and manage multiple priorities.
- 3+ years of experience with Amazon QuickSight or similar BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Strong data analysis skills with a deep understanding of transactional data and data modeling principles.
- Experience working with Amazon Redshift or other cloud-based data warehouses.
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages (e.g., R, Bash) for data manipulation and automation.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as AWS Glue, PySpark, Apache Airflow, Talend, or Informatica.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience performing manual and automated data reconciliation, including processor data.
- Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems, preferably AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the payments or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of data governance and best practices for data quality and security.
- Familiarity with REST APIs for data integration.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
